I'm originally from Ohio —Go Bucks—but I've called Austin home for over 16 years. I loved it so much that my parents, brother, uncles, and most of my family followed me here (minus one brother who landed in Nashville). I root for the Longhorns too, as long as they're not playing Ohio State.
I got into mortgage lending in 2013 and went independent in 2017, launching Mortgage Solutions LP. That decision changed everything. As an independent broker, I'm not tied to a single bank's products or rate sheet. I shop 40+ lenders to find the best terms for your specific situation —income type, credit profile, timeline, loan amount. My job is to find the right loan, not push the most profitable one.

Deep Austin Market Knowledge
I don't just process loans — I know this market. That knowledge makes a difference in how deals are structured and won.
Austin's market is unlike most of the country. You're often dealing with multiple offers, TREC contracts with 21–30 day close windows, and listing agents who vet your pre-approval letter before they'll even show the home. A generic, bank-issued letter doesn't cut it here. My pre-approvals are underwriter-reviewed and carry weight.
The Austin MSA spans two counties — Travis and Williamson — and they work differently. Travis County (Austin, Pflugerville, Cedar Park in part) uses TCAD for appraisals. Williamson County (Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander, Cedar Park in part) uses WCAD. Property tax rates vary by city and MUD district. These details affect your payment calculation and should be factored in before you write an offer.
I also know the suburb markets well. Georgetown is a different buyer than Round Rock. Leander's new construction scene attracts different loan programs than Pflugerville's resale inventory. Cedar Park's price point brings jumbo loans into play more often than people expect. This market knowledge shapes how I match clients to loan products.
Austin's rental market — particularly short-term rentals during SXSW, ACL, Formula 1 at COTA, and UT events — makes it one of the stronger DSCR loan markets in the country. I've helped investors acquire rental properties in East Austin, South Congress, Buda, and Kyle using rental income to qualify instead of personal income.
